The Pearl Youth Soccer League (Pearl Futbol Club) donated a check of more than $9,000 to the Pitman family of Pearl from its recent Jason Davis Kick Cancer Classic.

Four-month-old Maddy Pitman was diagnosed with leukemia in July and is undergoing treatment at St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis. This will help offset the massive medical costs Nick and Amanda Pitman are enduring through this very difficult time.

The PYSL thanks the generous donations of our citizens and the soccer community around the state and the hard work of so many of our volunteers.

The tournament started 25 years ago to honor Jason Davis, a former Pearl and Ole Miss Soccer Player who developed cancer his freshman year in college and passed away the next. Since then the tournament is held here in Pearl and all proceeds raised go to a deserving family in the city with a child battling cancer.

If you would like to help the Pitman family, you can text Nick Pitman at 601-260-8175.
