Florence High School graduate Brad Dennis entered this season with the Southern Miss football team poised to make an impact. The redshirt junior has featured mainly on special teams during his career. However, he made his second ever start at wide receiver in the Golden Eagles' season opener against South Alabama. Despite Southern Miss' 31-7 loss, Dennis recorded three catches for 26 yards.
In an interview with USM Sports Information, Southern Miss Head Coach Will Hall claimed that Dennis is a “tough guy” who represents the program well. "Brad does everything right and brings a lot to the table,” Hall stated.
Dennis played quarterback at Florence before changing positions in college. He now looks ready to be a key contributor to the Golden Eagles' receiving corps in his fourth season in Hattiesburg.
The Golden Eagles will now look to bounce back on Saturday against Grambling in their home opener.. Kickoff from M.M. Roberts Stadium will be at 6:00 P.M, and the game will be televised by ESPN3.
