Police Officer of the Month

Detective Reynaldo "Ray Ray" Olivo

On August 3, 2021 patrol officers with Pearl PD received a call about an auto burglary. When the patrol officer arrived, he was told that more than one vehicle had been burglarized. The patrol officer called a detective to the scene. Detective Olivo along with others processed the scene and collected all evidence. The next day Det. Olivo and others were able to locate and arrest two suspects in the burglaries. Due to Det. Olivo’s initiative and resourcefulness, the suspected thieves were in custody within one day.

Detective Olivo is a valuable asset to the PD and with this special recognition we would like to thank him for his dedication and service to the city of Pearl and the Pearl Police Department.

The Pearl Chamber of Commerce presented Det. Olivo with a framed certificate, a $100 Walmart Gift Card, and a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Gift Basket along with a gift certificate for a meal for two. Steak 'n Shake donated a $25 Gift Card; Jose's Mexican Restaurant donated a $25 Gift Certificate; The New Doris Berry's Farmer's Market donated a $25 Gift Certificate; McAlister's Deli donated a gift certificate for a meal for two; The Pearl Municipal Federal Credit Union donated a $25 Visa Gift Card; The Blue Feather Bakery donated a $15 Gift Card; Great American Cookies donated a chocolate chip cookie cake and Revell Ace Hardware-Pearl donated a stainless steel tumbler.

City Employee of the Month:

Abbie Childers

Abbie earned a promotion to Chief Deputy Clerk of Pearl Municipal Court. Abbie always has a positive attitude and is willing to do whatever needs to be done to make sure that the records department operates efficiently.

Recently Court Services has been short staffed and Abbie has continued to go above and beyond to make sure that everything is done and in a timely manner. Due to Abbie’s dedication and efficiency, the records department of the Pearl Police Department was able to continue operations effectively without any shortcomings. Abbie is a valuable employee and we are very fortunate to have someone with her character and work ethic at the Pearl Police Department. Mayor Windham congratulated Abbie and presented her with a certificate of appreciation.

Abbie and her husband Rob have two children, Riley and Samuel.

The Pearl Chamber presented her with a gift bag and a $100 Walmart gift card.


Congratulations to Blake Ball for earning a promotion to Captain in the Pearl Fire Department. Blake is also a nurse that has an unbelievably caring heart to serve people!
