Celebrate the holiday season with PSS

Residents are encouraged by the Pearl Senior Center (PSC) in the month of December and grab a nine-pack of wood ornaments to personalize. The Paint Your Own Christmas Ornaments activity is designed to be a perfect project to complete with family during the holidays. Each wood ornament measures five inches. The cost is $5 per pack.

On Tuesday, December 14, at 10 a.m., Pearl Senior Services (PSS) will host Chillin’ with My Gnomes. Participants will learn how to create a Christmas gnome. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. The $5 craft fee is due at sign-up.


On Thursday, December 16, at 1 p.m., is the monthly Birthday Bingo. The theme for December is Christmas Carols. Attendees can brush up on Christmas songs as the PSC staff entertains with lyrics. Advanced sign-up is a must, as space is limited.


On Friday, December 17, at 10:30 a.m., Pearl Upper Elementary’s fifth-grade Honor Choir will perform a Mini-Christmas Concert for PSS. Attendees are invited to join in a pizza party following the concert. Tickets are available at PSC. This is a free event. Attendees must present a ticket the day of the event for entry. Space is limited.

PSS also hosts many weekly activities, including Monday Men’s Coffee at 8 a.m. followed by 9 a.m. Senior Power Fitness and 10 a.m. Spanish Class; Tuesday’s schedule kicks off with Bible Study at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Chairobics; Wednesday’s offerings are Senior Power Fitness at 9 a.m. and Crochet at 1 p.m; Thursdays are Bridge at 1 p.m. and Hand and Foot at 1 p.m. Intermediate Line Dancing will also be held Wednesday, December 15, at 12 p.m., followed by Beginner Line Dancing at 1 p.m.


PSC will be closed on the following days in December: Thursday, December 23; Friday, December 24; Thursday, December 30; and Friday, December 31.
