Call for vendors: Florence Fest 2021

The City of Florence will hold Florence Fest 2021 on Saturday, October 23. The event, set for Hemphill Park, will include arts and crafts and business booths, as well as food vendors. Registration is now open for all types of vendors.

The registration deadline is October 8, at which point a $25 late fee will be added to the cost. Booths will be available until October 22, or until all booth spaces are taken. Vendor applicants must list products they intend to sell or promote.

Arts and crafts vendors will be provided a 10-foot by 12-foot space at $50. Fees are non-refundable. Electricity is $10 in addition to the booth fee. Booths with electricity are very limited; vendors must contact the city in advance to confirm availability. Vendors will need to supply tables, chairs, tents, and extension cords. Generators are allowed but must be muffled. They will be required to collect a seven percent sales tax for their sales and will be provided with a reporting form. Sales tax will be collected at the end of the day by City of Florence personnel to turn in to Mississippi State Tax Commission.

A 10-foot by 12-foot booth space will also be provided to businesses at $50 per business. Business booths may distribute pens, pencils, key chains, note pads, magnets, etc., but no food items may be given away or sold. This includes bottled water.

Food vendors will be provided a 24-foot by 12-foot space at $150 per vendor. Food vendor applications must be submitted by October 8. Spaces will be assigned on a “first-come, first-served” basis, as the city has limited spots with electrical hookups. However, vendors are welcome to bring their own generator if all spots with electrical hookups are taken. Food vendors are solely responsible for complying with health code requirements and must provide a copy of their food permit with the vendor application.

The Mississippi State Sales tax of nine percent for prepared food will need to be collected by the food vendor. Reporting forms and sales tax money will be collected at the end of the day by City of Florence personnel to turn in to the Mississippi State Tax Commission. Food vendors will be required to fully clean their area before leaving.

Cooking oil and/or grease will need to be taken with the vendor for disposal. A map with each vendor’s assigned space, along with details of set up times, will be mailed to each, prior to the event.

Non-profit organizations are also welcome to set up space for Florence Fest 2021. Free booths for Florence-based organizations will be provided and must be approved by the mayor. 110 V electricity can be provided at an additional $10, but access is limited. Contact the City for availability.

Vendor setup will begin Friday, October 22, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday morning from 6:30

a.m. until 8:30 a.m. The market will open at 9 a.m., and all vehicles must be out of the vendor area
