Battalion Chief Donnie Boykin was recently named Pearl Fire Department Firefighter of the Month. Boykin began his career with the Pearl Fire Department twenty-six years ago as a firefighter and has accumulated over 1,000 hours at the State Fire Academy. He obtained his EMT Certification at Hinds Community College. In 1999, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and then was promoted to captain in January of 2005. In 2014, Boykin was promoted to Battalion Chief of C Shift, where he keeps his shift motivated and moving in the right direction. Boykin has been married to his wife, Kelly Breland Boykin, for twenty-one years, and they have two children, Breley (18) and Keaton (14).
