The next adoption and foster care class at Crossgates Baptist Church will meet on Wednesday, November 3rd from 6:00-7:00pm in room 207.
Sabrea Smith who works with Rescue 100 will be the keynote speaker and attending this orientation presentation class will count towards the licensure of becoming a foster parent family.
Rescue 100 is a collaborative effort between the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services, the courts and churches representing all denominations across the state of Mississippi. These organizations work together to streamline the training and licensing process for foster families.
Rescue 100 is committed to recruiting, training and supporting foster families who provide loving homes for children in the state foster care system. Rescue 100 trains and equips foster families through online training courses and a 1-day training to expedite licensing their homes so they can care for children in need of a stable and loving home environment. Orientation sessions and training are held throughout the year in all parts of the state.
Mississippi currently has almost 5,000 children in foster care. There is a critical need for hundreds and hundreds more foster families to care for them and provide them with a safe, stable and loving home environment.
Crossgates Baptist Church will offer free childcare to attend these classes and RSVP is not required to attend the class. If needed, you may want to show up a few minutes early to register your child for childcare before the class starts.
We look forward to having you and your families attend our upcoming class. If you have a friend or family member who you think would like to come, please invite them to come with you. Our adoption and foster classes meet on the first and third Wednesday’s of each month and they are available for everyone to attend.
